Missy Kelner, Intern
Missy (she/her) is an art therapy intern at Requiem Cove and a graduate student at Lesley University, where she is pursuing a dual degree in art therapy and clinical mental health counseling. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Art History from McDaniel College.
Missy brings more than 10 years of experience working in substance use treatment and is a CSC-AD in Maryland. She also holds a Level 1 Advanced Trauma Training Certificate through the Ferentz Institute. Her clinical interests include trauma, family systems, substance use and recovery, emotional regulation, and supporting people through periods of change and transition.
Missy believes that making art can create space for healing, self-expression, communication, and exploring experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. She views therapy as a collaborative process and works to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore what is meaningful to them at their own pace. No prior art experience or artistic skill is required– only a willingness to explore!

WE MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF… you’re looking for a therapist who is down-to-earth, collaborative, and will meet you where you are. You may be interested in exploring creative or art-based approaches, prefer traditional talk therapy, or find that sometimes talking alone doesn’t quite capture what you’re experiencing. Art can be part of our work as much or as little as feels comfortable and meaningful to you, and we can figure out together what works best.
OUTSIDE OF WORK YOU’LL FIND ME… playing in my craft room, hiking with my dogs, or traveling back to Boston, where I’m originally from.
